We are developing Kimakuri Suits, a service that repurposes the technology cultivated in developing our Kimakuri virtual try-on service, specialized for made-to-order suit businesses. (Not offered as of , due to a reorganization of our business portfolio following the sale of part of our business.)
Kimakuri Virtual Try-On Service
See how it will turn out, and whether it suits you, before it is tailored
Before having a made-to-order suit made, customers can see how it will turn out and whether it will suit them when they wear it.
Intended use scenario
- The end user visits the store of a made-to-order suit business.
- Measurements are taken, and the measurement data is saved in Kimakuri-Suits. If necessary, the end user’s head is 3D-scanned.
- While looking at a tablet, the end user and the sales associate select a fabric and apply it to a 3D gauge garment. They judge how the garment will turn out and whether it suits the end user when placed on the end user’s avatar.
- After returning home, the end user can dress their avatar in other gauge garments and fabrics. Once they have decided to buy, they place the order on the website.
Differences from Kimakuri: free choice of fabric and improved try-on quality
Whereas Kimakuri dressed avatars in 3D-scanned garments, this service uses gauge garments created in advance as 3D models. In addition, by letting users freely choose a fabric and applying it instantly, and by incorporating cloth simulation, the quality of the try-on result has improved significantly.
