Putting 3D tools to work for more efficient manga production

Manga is often assumed to be drawn entirely by hand, but 3D tools are increasingly being used to improve work efficiency. By using 3D, objects such as buildings and small props can be drawn efficiently without compromising quality.

Despite these advantages, manga production using 3D tools differs greatly from the conventional workflow, and because best practices have not yet become widespread, building an efficient workflow is not easy. At present, rendering, modeling and creating 3D line art require mastery of skills and sensibilities specific to 3DCG, and also involve a heavy workload. It is also difficult to build a workflow that takes into account the technical requirements of both 3DCG and manga.

Best practices, provided through tools and workshops

We provide the best practices we have cultivated through client work and the development of our own services in the form of tools, workshops and lectures, publishing them or offering them as services.
